What are you Falling for?

Listen, I’m not even gonna lie, lately I’ve been feeling a little pressing in my spirit and often times when this happens I’m not always 100% certain as to why that is. When this happens, I do know that my spirit is craving something my mind is uncertain of therefore, I know I have to pray into what is happening within.

In a world filled with so much confusion, chaos, division and this big spirit of comparison, it’s easy to get caught up with one of these enemies if you aren’t careful. One minute you can be on social media simply trying to post an uplifting message and minutes / hours later end up the shade-room investigating and lurking on other peoples Instagram's- next thing you know, you realize just how much time you wasted.

As I pressed into what I was feeling within my spirit, a couple of things came to mind but the one I want to share is how we as believers, must be about our Father’s business.

I’m reminded of the story when Jesus’s parents went looking for him after one of their trips to Jerusalem and after looking for three days, they found him in the temple court sitting with teachers and engaging in conversation - at the age of twelve by the way.

In Luke 2:49 Jesus says “why were you searching for me? Didn’t you know I had to be in my fathers house?” I love how the passion translation states ”why would you need to search for me? Didn't you know that it was necessary for me to be here in my Fathers house, consumed with him?“

See….. if Jesus at the young age of twelve knew what he needed to be doing and with whom he needed to be with, why can’t we?

What’s consuming us is distracting us. I can’t be about my Father’s business if I’m up in everyone else’s business!! This conviction hit me heavy!

The enemy’s biggest tactic these days is distractions!

  • Distracting us from what’s really going on in the world around us

  • Distracting us from our prayer time

  • Distracting us from spending time with God

  • Distracting us from reading our bible

  • Distracting us from our purpose

  • Distracting us from telling others about Jesus

This list of distractions goes on and on......

This pressing was for me!

Tunai, stay focused! Tunai, you must be about your Fathers business. Lives, souls and spiritual transformation is at stake. Don't fall for the tricks of the enemy! Don't fall into the traps he tries to place before you.

Jesus is the only one we should be comparing ourselves to. I know with this being the case, I need to spend more time comparing myself to him hence learning more about him so I can do some aligning!

This month I challenge you as I challenge myself, to fall in love with Jesus. You know in the beginning phase of a relationship when you get the butterflies every time he/she calls….. Jesus is calling! Let us press into His presence and fall back into His loving arms.

As I write to encourage you, I write to encourage myself! Let’s transform!
