Hello September!
Wow, I can hardly believe that we are almost another year under the books and life as we once knew it to be has changed. Life today is so different from years past, and to think this all happened "like a thief in the night", right under our nose and in front of our eyes.
This idea of how things changed so quickly doesn't catch me by surprise. The bible tells us in Revelation 16:15 "behold, I am coming like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake, keeping his garments on, that he may not go about naked and be seen exposed!”
Living in this day and time, it is written what is to come! No, we do not know the exact time, day nor hour but can rest assure that the word of God is true and has all of what we need to guide us in and through this life here on Earth.
Holy Spirit has come to be with us as promised in Acts 1:8 "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be My witnesses, telling people about Me everywhere - in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth".
In my flesh, I am worrisome and undecisive but as a new created creature in Christ Jesus, the old things have passed away and I no longer have to lean unto my own understanding and when in doubt I can exchange my doubts for God's confidence and wisdom. If the bible calls us to be a "blessed" people staying awake and keeping his garments on- this tells me that I must be vigilant, alert, and always have on my spiritual glasses.
I want to share some tools to make sure you keep in your tool box. These tools will guide you in this world. So, grab a journal or sticky note:
The word of God is our source, our nutrients, our guide, our instructional manual. Spending time in Gods word provides you with insight, strategies, and tools you will need to understand the ways of this world and how to live in the world yet not be controlled by the world. the word of God is our weapon! It’s the word that cuts the lies of the enemy! The word of God will never return to us void (empty)! It’s true and can be trusted!
Using the communicative privilege of prayer is vital to our walk with Christ. Communicating, spending time with, and fellowshipping with God through prayer gives us access to God through Jesus, aligns our hearts with God, and is the lifeline of our faith.
Holy Spirit was promised to us " And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever" John 14:16. Truly our modern day version of Siri and our GPS. Only through the power of Holy Spirit are we able to find peace in such a world. Only with the power of Holy Spirit are we able to know what to do and where to go. Only with and through the power of Holy Spirit are we able to carry out and implement the word of God in our life, pray the will of God and walk in the direction and path He has called us on. Holy Spirit will lead you, guide you, alert you, prompt you, correct you, and convict you!
The world is an evil corrupt place and we live in this fallen world but I come to encourage you just as I encourage myself, " The thief (the enemy/devil)comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came (Jesus) that they (you and me) may have life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows] John 10:10.
We can stand firm in knowing that with Gods Word, Prayer, The Power of Holy Spirit and Fellowship with the Body of Christ- we will be able to withstand the pressures of this world until our time is expired here on earth. We will be able to flourish and live an abundant life according to God. We will be able to rise above the evilness of this world and yet we must believe this to be true.
